Courtney & Michael’s Golden Hour Engagement Session at Blackwood Farm Park

There’s nothing better than capturing a couple who is just so in sync, and Courtney & Michael’s engagement session at Blackwood Farm Park in Chapel Hill was exactly that! From the moment they arrived, their easygoing energy and undeniable connection made photographing them an absolute dream.

We spent the evening wandering through the park, soaking in the golden light, and chatting about all the fun little things that make their relationship unique. One of my favorite parts of engagement sessions is getting to know our couples.

We talked about everything from who the better cook is (Michael proudly takes that title! 👨‍🍳) to their favorite holidays (he’s all about Christmas magic, while she’s a Halloween queen 🎃🎄). But the real star of the conversation? Their brand-new puppy, Apollo! 🐶 They were just about to pick him up to join their current dog, Rocky, and I could tell they were beyond excited. If only those two pups could have joined the session!

Blackwood Farm Park was the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos—tall trees, open fields, and the softest golden light made every moment feel extra magical. Courtney & Michael were completely natural in front of the camera, laughing and just being their fun, playful selves. 

As we wrapped up the evening, I couldn’t help but get even more excited for their wedding next year. If their engagement session was this much fun, I just know their big day is going to be absolutely incredible.
