Freedom Park maternity session is the next chapter for Steph and Chris

I've lost count of how many times I've photographed Steph and Chris, and I mean that as a compliment.

Two engagement sessions. Their wedding. A branding session with Steph somewhere in there. Then an invite to her Love Island themed baby shower. So when Steph asked me to shoot maternity photos, it didn't feel like booking a client. It felt like showing up for the next part of a story I'd already been following for years.

We shot at Freedom Park in Charlotte for this one since it's where Chris proposed. First stop was heading to the bridge which was the exact spot they got engaged. I guess the universe had other plans for us though because the bridge is currently under construction, chain link fence and all, so we had to pivot on the fly and find a new spot instead, one that still had a little bit of that same bridge charm.

Once that crisis was averted, we moseyed around the park searching for the prettiest spots. There's a willow tree in the park that I think about more than a reasonable person should. It does something to the light in the last hour before sunset that makes every couple look like they're in a painting. Steph and Chris were no exception.

A big thank you to Steph and Chris for trusting me and letting me be part of this important moment too. Engagement, wedding, branding, baby. I'm greedy enough to hope there's a fifth chapter in here somewhere!
